What makes the Asian lash lift technique unique?
With a traditional lash lift, the process starts with carefully positioning the lashes on a shield. This can be a time-consuming step, especially when dealing with thick, coarse lashes or lashes that are difficult to keep in place. In addition, thick layers of glue can complicate the process.
The Asian lash lift technique offers an efficient solution for this. Instead of immediately starting to wrap the lashes on a shield, you start with step 1 of the lift process. This is applied over the entire length of the lashes, while they are still on an under-eye patch. Step 1 makes the lashes supple and flexible, making them much easier to place on the shield later. This ensures a more even and faster result.
Is applying step 1 to the entire length of the lashes safe?
For lash lift systems based on Thioglycolic Acid, it is not recommended to apply step 1 over the entire length of the lashes. However, this does not apply to systems that use Cysteamine. This ingredient is milder and can be safely applied over the entire length, including the tips of the lashes. Well-known brands that are suitable for Asian technique include Ruthie Belle, Boo Beauty Bar and Elleebana ProFusion. Noemi has also recently developed a Cysteamine-based step 1.
Step-by-step plan for the Asian lash lift technique

Clean the eyelashes thoroughly.

After the processing time, remove step 1, remove the under-eye patch and apply the lash lift shield.

Wrap the lashes on the shield. If necessary, a small amount of lash lift glue or balm can be used.

What is the Glueless method?
The Glueless method is an alternative way to lift lashes without traditional glue. Step 1 of the lifting process is mixed with a special powder, such as 'Powder Lift' by Ruthie Belle x Lashmother Uli or 'Gooey' by Noemi. This creates a balm-like substance with which you can immediately start wrapping the lashes onto the shield. Often, the lashes will stay in place by themselves, without extra glue or balm.
